Community Engagement

At Forward Wellness we want to reduce barriers to access to mental health care and decrease the stigma of getting support. With this in mind, we want to support employers to better support the needs of their employees.

Making a Change

You may have noticed that mental health needs are on the rise across the country during the pandemic. There are a variety of reasons for this including isolation, fear, and increased demands between work and home. According to the CDC only about 40% of employees with severe depression actually receive services. While nearly 1 in 5 US adults aged 18 or older (18.3% or 44.7 million people) reported any mental illness in 2016. It is found that every $1 spent for preventative care saves $4 for higher level care.

Forward Wellness is looking to partner with workplaces to facilitate one hour workshops discussing mental health needs and how to access mental health treatment in Pittsburgh. There is a chance these workshops could become an ongoing partnership to support the needs of your employees or this could be a single complementary workshop.

Please let us know if you have any interest in bringing one of our clinicians in to talk with your employees.
