Some Fun Facts
My hobbies and interests change frequently! But for now, I'm loving planners, journaling, and all things stationary. I'm also enjoying Zelda: Breath of the Wild on my Switch; hoping to dive into Tears of the Kingdom next!
What working with me is like
During our time together, I work to provide an empathetic, reflective, and evidence-based space for you to gain clarity about who you are now, accept who you are, and support in your growth and healing. I am particularly passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ clients, especially nonbinary clients, who are struggling with accepting themselves and their own narratives, or who are struggling with acceptance from their current communities.
I have a diverse and varied background. Becoming a therapist was not a linear path, and I think that helps me understand a variety of experiences and challenges that clients may face.
We might work well together if:
- You value collaboration and reflection -- I won't tell you what to do! I ask a lot of questions to get us to a few options of how you might like to move forward.
- You're interested in Internal Family Systems (IFS), or parts work. As I am still a graduate student, I am exploring the specific interventions I want to work with as a counselor. One of those interventions is IFS. That said, I do work to tailor my interventions to what may best suit you!
- You are interested in exploring the power dynamics or systemic inequalities present in your day-to-day life (example: in therapy, at work, in your relationships, etc!).
- You're okay with me saying, "I don't know." I won't have every intervention memorized or know where to go next in a session all of the time, but I will always work to find the answer.

Important about me
Hi! My name is Tay, and I am a queer nonbinary graduate intern at Forward Wellness. In addition to being passionate about mental health, I love being silly and finding small joys in life. While you and I will be talking about important and most likely challenging aspects of your life, I hope we can create levity together, too!
