Some Fun Facts
I enjoy practicing and expanding my knowledge about yoga and meditation. I like to explore creative expression and find writing to be one of my greatest passions. I love to travel in the western United States particularly Idaho and Colorado. In my free time you will find me spending time with my three kids and connecting with nature.
What working with me is like
I believe that growth, healing, and transformation are possible for everyone. My work is rooted in the idea that through sharing our trauma and pain we can begin to understand how it impacts us and forge our pathway to healing. As your counselor I will aspire to create a collaborative relationship where you can show up authentically, and unapologetically as you are. I will be in the moment with you to process emotions, hold space for your pain, and co-author your personal narrative. I bring foundational counseling perspectives that are strength-based and person-centered and will integrate various modalities and interventions to meet your needs. I offer creative expression and somatic awareness to explore what healing elements are meaningful to you. I am passionate about the lived experiences of women and the intersections of identity that all people inhabit as they work towards growth and self-actualization. As a woman, mother, and survivor I acknowledge these unique experiences and will explore the intersection of culture, identity, and trauma as you begin the process of sharing your story.
Quote
“On earth, everyone loved butterflies, but I trusted the caterpillars more. I trusted the ones who knew they were not done growing.”
Andrea Gibson
“Encouraging someone to be entirely themselves is the loudest way to love them.”
Kalen Dion
Important about me
I am a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at Carlow University. My journey to becoming a counselor is filled with various career and life experiences that inform my approach to creating the therapeutic space for clients to heal intentionally and grow freely. My experience as a lifelong learner of culture provides space for exploration and introspection of identity to be included in the therapeutic process. I will invite clients to reauthor their personal narratives and identify their strengths and resiliency along the way. I have interests in inner child work and offer the process of revisiting foundational narratives. I work well with clients who want to explore somatic processing and grounding techniques to facilitate wholistic healing. As a naturally inquisitive individual and new clinician I am attuned to integrate client lead interventions and interests into my practice to meet each client where they are in their unique journey.
