Some Fun Facts

I love video games, writing, cats, tarot, knitting, and crafting! I'm a big nerd and I love all things witchy and fantasy-related. I have 2 cats that are my babies and loves of my life - and they do, indeed, have nerdy names.

What working with me is like

My approach is rooted in the notion that we have two choices: stay stuck in the cycles that keep us miserable, or find the courage to make the changes that we need to make. My role is to empower you to build a life worth living, even in a world that is often difficult to do that in. My approach is very relational and collaborative because I feel that the connection we build together is the driving force of the work we'll do. Sessions with me are casual and client-directed with a healthy dose of humor. I primarily draw from modalities such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), strengths-based, and Solutions-Focused Therapy, and I love to bring creativity into sessions. My overall therapeutic process is to sit with you and listen to your pain while helping you come up with an action plan towards healing. Because it's your journey - I'm just here to help you find your way toward where you want to go.

Quote

"Now is the time to choose - die and be free of pain, or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories. Your fate is in your hands!" - Auron, Final Fantasy X

Important about me

I've worked within multiple areas throughout my career, including perinatal mental health, queer-related issues, neurodivergence, and chronic illness/disability. Something I've noticed throughout my experience is that, although our struggles can look very different, the grief and trauma many of us experience as a result of being who we are is often the core of those struggles. We're all just humans trying to figure things out the best we can with what we have. Being queer and chronically ill, I've found myself at the odd intersection of being invisible while also having very different needs and feeling separate from my peers. It's a hard place to be, and my goal is to show up for you with the acceptance and understanding that you need in order to be who you are - no matter what that looks like.
